Livability / Disability Housing Design

Liveable Housing design is for everyone, from young families through to old age and those with disabilities. These homes are designed for ease of access and use of spaces, so that as a family grows and changes through the years the home and spaces stay useable right through to being liveable by someone potentially confined to a wheelchair.

Fusion Building Design now offer a range of cost effective house designs that take into account some or all of the 16 elements of the Liveability Housing Guidelines. These include access, detailing for thresholds, door and passage widths, car parking, toilet and bath room layouts, reinforced wall areas for grab rails, manoeuvring spaces in bedrooms, living and utility spaces, types and heights of handles and switches etc.

Our plans and specifications put together the requirements for your builder to construct a house for you that will enable you to stay in your own home for longer without the need to necessarily move and rebuild. Australia has a documented ageing population and an ever growing need to design for people with disabilities which will ensure that these homes will also have the added benefit of good resale value.

If one of our plans isn’t exactly what you are looking for we may be able to adapt one of our designs, or, we are very experienced in custom designing to suit your specific needs.

Please feel free to call or email us if you are interested in our designs for liveability.
